This Week in Writing

Utopia's Disco JetsBeen a busy week again.

First, joined a second writing critique group that will be meeting on alternate Mondays (for the most part). This means submitting something to them as well at least once a month, so no time to rest, must write, write, and write some more, to have enough material for two groups to review every other week. Have so much in the process I don’t think it will become an issue for a little while.

In the initial meeting it came up that most of them were interested in self-publishing as well, once they heard I was doing it, and asked if I could explain it a bit more at a later meeting. Of course I agreed. But then my mind started thinking that there were probably others out there as well that may want to know the ins and outs of self-publishing, so I sent off a query to the local writing enclave to see if they might like to host a class on the topic. Have yet to hear back, but will be interesting to see what happens.

Lots of little additions to stories. Nemesis Probe is nearing completion (maybe today) and Amaranthine Dreams keeps growing as well. Added a new third chapter to An Empire Forgotten to bring Hieronymus into the story as well, so we’ll see how that goes. Also had a couple of short story ideas (working titles: Bitter Escape, First Meeting) that I set aside for later development. Got to keep the ideas flowing if the one story a month cycle is to continue.

Todd Rundgren released a new album called State that I’m listening to now but have yet to hear that really standout track I can rock to and an un-released Utopia album called Disco Jets that has a odd mix of popular music warped and recorded by the group between takes of their released albums.

Have a writing critique on Wednesday and need to finalize the files for A Painful Blessing release next week, so no rest yet.
