About

L Frank Turovich, man, myth, curmudgeon

frank_oct2014_oval_blurL FrankTurovich(1956-) was born and raised in Flint, Michigan where he became a rabid reader of science fiction, fantasy, mysteries, comics and everything printed and readable. After graduation he spent time in the US Marine Corps as a “grunt” and later earned degrees in Technical Training and Management while serving as a radar instructor in 29 Palms, CA.

Along the way Frank bought his first Macintosh in April 1984 and learned to program. He combined his fascination with teaching and programming into writing articles for Nibble Mac and Inside BASIC magazines, and self-published two books on the subject.

Leaving the Marines he worked as a technical writer, trainer, and manager for several high-tech companies including Metrowerks, Motorola, Freescale Semiconductor, and Nokia, where he mainly documented software development tools and other related technologies.

He currently resides in Gladwin, Michigan doing his best Travis McGee impression in a home filled with books, computers, and two cats (Java and Larry) where he pursues that elusive fiction writing career he’s always dreamt of.
