Fall Agenda Planning

Inspirational cover for The Three Realms

The last couple of weeks have been busy. First, at work there were some last minute additions to the docs for our new software product that needed completion, so I’ve spent a lot of time learning old software and furiously writing an entirely new comparison guide.  By the time I came home each night I was worn out and did little on my own projects. But that project’s now done to some excellent feedback and kudos so now I can get back to my fiction.

Also attended a couple of critique group sessions. In the first I got some great feedback on Nemesis Probe that allowed me to finalize its copy and move it to PREP status. Next weekend I’ll sit down, do a final read through and edit, then start creating the various files I need to submit it for publication. May start iTunes a bit earlier this time as they take forever to approve my uploads. The other group did not have a submission from me but I owe one for the next meeting, so I’ve got to decide which short is the best one to get feedback on at this time.

Going forward my Wednesday critique groups going to see the rewrite of An Empire Forgotten. Spent most of yesterday editing the next few chapters so I have plenty to submit. Until people get sick of my hogging the group I’m going to take advantage of the excellent feedback I get from them to continue to improve it.

Also made a decision on my critique and release schedule for the fall. With Nemesis Probe going live next weekend, and Amaranthine Dreams scheduled for September I now have enough fantasy shorts to produce an actual book. So that’s what I plan to do in October. I’m calling it The Three Realms and it will be a collection of my five previously released short stories. I’ll be doing it in both ebook and print versions via Createspace so those of you who want a physical copy will be able to get one (finally). I have some other ideas I’m pursuing as well to make it a nice product but won’t know for a bit. I’ll keep you informed on any changes though, so stick around.

So this morning I started collating the stories and organizing the book file I need to submit. Also began work on my usual inspirational cover and investigated the Createspace process. Looks easy enough, but won’t really know until I start using it.

So far the fall is looking busy. Two more shorts to release, an actual book in two formats, progress on my novel, and lots of learning and writing to do in the meantime.

Sounds like fun.
