Absent but not Idle

Spent the last two weeks working with two of my three brothers and one sister to get a new business setup for my brother Kevin. He’s branching into becoming an independent tool truck jobber. For those unaware of what that is, he plans to drive a large truck around to businesses and sell various tools and other products to the on site mechanics and other patrons. If you’ve seen a Snap-on or Mac Tools truck in your neighborhood then you know what I’m talking about.

He found and bought an older truck and all we had to do was get it ready. So we spent a lot of time spiffing it up to make it ready for cruising. That, in essence meant we peeled the old companies vinyl signs off the vehicle, removing and then reapplying bungie cord to interior pegboard walls and ceiling (a tedious process that took nigh unto three days alone) to hold a swath of tools and general cleaning.

K&P's truck with name and logo - w00t!

Previously, Kevin and I had worked up some preliminary company signs but never settled on one until we could sit down together and figure out exactly what he was looking for and what I could do with the software tools on hand. Took all of one morning to clarify the logo design and the result was sent off to Eye Candy Graphic Arts, in St. Joseph, MO, to make the new signs.  Yesterday, my contact there, Rayna, sent me pictures of the truck with the new logo and name. Very cool!

Some preliminary work was also done for a website, but it’s nothing to write home about yet, so try to hold your disappointment as work is ongoing to make it a dynamic site for K&P.
